Anti-bounce: One of the main drawbacks of bikepacking saddlebags is their annoying tendency to wobble with the slightest movement. The Packer Rack Set solves this problem with a very original cradle that attaches directly to the seatpost. While this type of support exists for handlebars (we feature a few in this article!), its rear version is, to my knowledge, unique.

Multiple adjustments: Thanks to a particularly ingenious system, the set adapts to many bike geometries. It offers two possible tilt angles and can be oriented either vertically or horizontally. This makes it suitable for both mountain bikes and folding bikes. To push the boundaries, I even tested it on a unicycle to try my hand at monopacking (admit it, the English term sounds much cooler than "monotourism").

Robustness: Made entirely of aluminum, the frame manages to remain lightweight while maintaining reassuring sturdiness. The manufacturer recommends a maximum load of 7 kg on roads and 4.5 kg on trails. While it was validated during our tests with an 8L dry bag, the cradle can easily accommodate much larger gear (up to 25 cm in diameter, according to the brand).

Securing: A kit of suitable straps is offered by the brand. Personally, I prefer Voile straps (not included): despite the added weight, they make this type of cradle absolutely reliable and incredibly easy to attach.”
